What is SiRf InstantFix II™?
SiRf InstantFix II™ calculates the performance and position of available GPS satellites up to 3 days in advance in order to optimize GPS reception.
When the navigation system is started from stand-by mode, the satellites are then immediately located, allowing very rapid and precise positioning, which is necessary for route calculation.

What is free lifetimeTMC?
Free lifetime TMC is a traffic holdup warning service. The service provides the latest reports on traffic conditions and hold-ups within Germany, thereby optimizing dynamic route calculation.
Free lifetime TMC reports are compiled with current traffic flow data that are automatically recorded with sensors. The data are transmitted to a data centre, where they are analysed and relayed to navigation systems.
Free lifetime TMC is normally subject to charges, but for you it is free!

What does split-screen mean?
In split-screen mode, the map is displayed on the right side of the screen. On the left side of the screen, the driving course is displayed with the next two turning possibilities indicated with arrows. As well, driving time, distance to destination, time of arrival, speed and altitude are also displayed.

How can I adjust or change the various map display modes?
Under Navigation, select Navigation Menu. Under Settings, you will find Route Info in the menu list. Here, under Map Display, you may choose between Map Display, Split-Screen and Arrow Display (no map). Confirm your choice by clicking on OK in the upper right.

How long does the device’s battery last?
The navigation device is equipped with a lithium ion battery (capacity 1200 mah). Battery life depends on how long the battery has been charged.
The battery is fully charged after ca. 8-10 hours of charging. The device can then be operated for ca. 3-4 hours.
A cable for charging from the cigarette lighter and a USB cable are included with device. The USB cable allows you to charge the device directly from a PC or notebook computer. An AC adapter unit for charging away from the vehicle is available in our online Becker-Shop or from your Becker retailer.

What should I do when I lost my PIN?
The unit provides anti-theft protection via PIN entry. The PIN is user-selectable and can be activated via menu.
If your personal PIN once lost or forgotten, please send an e-mail with your request to service@harmanbecker.com .
Our customer service will contact you as soon as possible and detect your security code.

How do I connect my navigation system with my mobile phone?
Click on Telephone in the main menu, and then click on Phone Menu. There, select Connect with Phone and then Search for Phone.
Your navigation device will now search for detectable mobile phones nearby, and display them in a list. Once you have selected your mobile phone from the list, the Becker Traffic Assist Pro Z 250 with establish a connection with it.
The first time a connection is established, you will be asked to enter a PIN code on your mobile phone, by which you allow and confirm access by the navigation device.

Why doesn’t my navigation system detect my mobile phone?
Ensure that Bluetooth® capability is activated on your mobile phone, and that the mobile device is set to be detectable or ‘visible’ by other devices. This activation procedure differs between mobile phone brands and models. For specific instructions, please refer to the mobile device’s manual or contact the manufacturer.

How can I copy my mobile phone’s contact list to the navigation device?
In the Phone Menu, click on Contact List. Your mobile phone’s contacts will then be transferred to your navigation system automatically. Depending on the model and settings of your mobile phone, you may have to permit access to the mobile phone’s data on the mobile phone. Once the contact list has been copied, you will have direct access to it on the navigation system and be able to search and dial stored numbers.
If you haven’t connected the two devices in a while, and changes have been made to the your mobile phone’s contact list, you can update the contact list on your navigation system by clicking on Settings in the Phone Menu, and selecting Update Contact List.

Which contact list will be copied to the device?
Normally, the contact list data that are stored on your mobile phone’s SIM card are copied to the device. Depending on your mobile phone model, data may instead be copied from the mobile phone’s internal memory.

Using the Feature Cradle, I have connected my navigation device to the vehicle’s sound system. If I now make a phone call using the device’s hands-free feature, will the other person hear me?
By connecting your navigation system to the vehicle’s sound system, the device’s internal microphone is automatically deactivated. You’ll therefore need an external microphone to use the hands-free feature.

How can I block or re-access part of a calculated route?
Once your route has been calculated, select Route Description under Options. This will display the entire route as a list, allowing you to check the route before beginning your journey. You may then block or re-access any sections of the route (in case of known alternative ones, for instance) by clicking on the field in front of the listed entry.
To apply blocking or re-accessing changes to the calculated route, click Update and then click Recalculate Route.
